¨Though it was a serious working trip - buying antiques abroad to stock my new antique store at 200 Lex - It felt like a semi-vacation - a Food & Wine Tour - I still can't figure out how you had time to cook those meals? - in addition to taking us shopping for antiques. I didn't just make new relationships I became part of a new community. By watching others I learned the art of negotiation, seeing different techniques so that I could figure out the right technique for me. Shipping Antiques is a whole different ball game than in America. I learned how to save money shipping antiques from Europe (and did some of the packing and tagging myself). Before the tour, I wondered why we needed to hire the van to follow us in Arezzo etc and afterwards I was thankful that Toma had thought of everything. Even with pre-shopping before the tour - I was given opportunities to purchase antiques before I had even arrived. I cannot imagine having tried to do this on my own.¨
